Publications Teaching with Technology - Research Gate Feb '15 Author(s): Halina Ostankowicz- Bazan Link: https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Halina_Ostankowicz_Bazan/publications I take advantage of novel methods to build up active learning skills and to encourage students toward further education, or else to mature students' thinking skills. For most of my learners, the techniques I use are fresh. They come to study in Poland from all the Globe, and the majority of them are not used to blended learning as well as flipped classes. They have to be talked into active learning and taking the responsibility of their knowledge. My role as a teacher is to be a learning coach, mentor and a source of support as well as inspiration. Flipping provides students opportunities such as; interactive questioning, mind exploration, answer “why this is important for me to recognize this?” and student-created content. During my language classes, I also use flipped methods because I believe in learning by researching as well as having fun while studying. LEARNING AND TEACHING ONLINE - https://www.academia.edu/ Apr '16 Author(s): Halina Ostankowicz- Bazan Link: https://pwr-wroc.academia.edu/HalinaOstankowiczBazan/Papers Teaching face-to-face and teaching online are both teachings, but they are qualitatively different. Online education starts when faculty moves from the traditional classroom to the online classroom. There are some things that the two have in common, but there are also plenty of differences. Blended Learning vs. Flipped Learning By Halina Ostańkowicz- Bazan According to Horn and Staker, blended learning is: “ Any time a student learns, at least in part, at a supervised brick-and-mortar location away from home and, at least in part, through online delivery with some element of student control over time, place, path, and pace. https://www.academia.edu/24010870/Blended_Learning_vs_Flipped_Learning Teaching Adults By Halina Ostańkowicz- Bazan When we decide to teach adults, the awareness, as well as comprehension of whom we teach and what we learn, is essential https://www.academia.edu/21816186/Teaching_Adults WE NEED THE CONVERSION FROM PASSIVE LEARNING TO ACTIVE TRAINING ENGLISH SKILLS https://www.researchgate.net/publication/312155252_WE_NEED_THE_CONVERSION_FROM_PASSIVE_LEARNING_TO_ACTIVE_TRAINING_ENGLISH_SKILLS The Essentials About Halina's Teaching https://www.researchgate.net/publication/312155163_The_Essentials_About_Halina's_Teaching More; https://pwr-wroc.academia.edu/HalinaOstańkowiczBazan https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Halina_Ostankowicz_Bazan/contributions Awards & Honors Recipient of Scientific Scholarship at the Wroclaw University of Technology Distinguished Awards from 1976 to 2013: • Awards of the Minister of National Education for Teaching and Scientific Achievements • Wroclaw University of Technology Rector's Golden Award for M.A. Halina Ostańkowicz-Bazan • Directors of Foreign Languages Department Award for Teaching and Scientific Achievements • Awards from Department of Polish for Foreigners Director for Promotional Achievements • Medal for Service the Polish Nation from the President of Poland • President’s of the Republic of Poland Gold Medal for Long-Term Service • WUT Rector’s Individual Award for Didactic Achievements • Medal of National Education Commission • Golden Badge of the Wroclaw University of Technology • Medal for Distinguished Service to the Wroclaw University of Technology Development. Work Samples Learning and Teaching Online However, online learning involves more than just the presentation and distribution of the materials using the Web: the learner and the learning process should be the focus of online learning. Teaching face-to-face and teaching online are both teachings, but they are qualitatively different. Online education starts when faculty moves from the traditional classroom to the online classroom. There are some things that the two have in common, but there are also plenty of differences. Halina's Conversational English ENGLISH FOR COMMUNICATION HALINA’S ENGLISH ONLINE COURSE Throughout my online course, participants will be able to ask questions before (in the courseware), during the Virtual Class (in the chat box), and after (in the courseware). For the duration of the six live lessons, I will show you exactly what you need to do to make fast progress and achieve your dream of being able to speak English spontaneously as well as naturally. I will go through the approach based on your learning style and show you the best methods and techniques so that you will make incredible progress. Technology and Teaching To me, teaching with technology involves the development of my approaches that includes four major modules: the course content, the coach, the students and the technology implements. After over thirty years of teaching, I felt bored with my traditional technics and wanted to find some inspiration, as well as improvement. My motivation, to search for the updated coaching methods, was an eagerness to get my classes more challenging and more exciting. Determining how to teach with technology has assisted me to make progress as an instructor and a scholar. Educational activity with technology can deepen student learning by supporting instructional objectives. Nevertheless, it can be challenging to choose the “best” tech tools while not losing sight of your destinations for student scholarship. In the classroom, technology can encompass all sorts of devices from low-tech pencil, newspaper publisher, and chalkboard, to the utilization of presentation software, or high-tech tablets, online collaboration, and conferencing tools, and more. The new technologies allow us to try things in physical and virtual classrooms that were not possible before. What you use depends fundamentally on what you are attempting to reach. The Future of Education My Hopes for the Future Education "Education is simply the soul of society as it passes from one generation to another." - G.K. Chesterton My hope is that teachers will make learning personalized rather than standardized for everyone. My hope allows improving students’ creativity, and educators increase that natural curiosity with learners. Curiosity is the basis of innovation. Curiosity will power our world to progress. My hope is that you charge the power of technology in thoughtful and incredible ways. Applied science can connect everyone, everywhere, at whatever time. We should use it to our advantage. I hope for everyone to be able to discover the things you are passionate about. I also hope that you have remarkable, encouraging educators and mentors who try groundbreaking and wild teaching techniques to help you grow as a learner. My hope is you are ready for the challenges as well as the failure. Making mistakes is a way to learn. It’s not about the disaster; it’s how you respond to the failure. And finally, my hope is that your school is different from most of the current transactional learning models, where the students are consumers of education. Lastly, I hope for people to be just educational learners fitted in transformational learning approach with opportunity for active, creative and profound personal development. Education can take place anywhere and at any time. It is not only about reading, writing, and learning mathematical practices. Knowledge is wide-ranging. It’s breathing. Learning is the future. “I am not a teacher, but an awakener.” ― Robert Frost by Halina Ostankowicz- Bazan Social Media & Personal Websites Blog: (http://halina123dotcom.wordpress.com) Facebook: (http://facebook.com/halina.ostankowiczbazan ) Google+: (https://plus.google.com/+HalinaOstankowiczBazan/posts) LinkedIn: (http://www.linkedin.com/pub/halina-ostankowicz-bazan/3b/841/4b6) Twitter: (https://twitter.com/halina1234) Halina's English Academy: (http://halina123dotcom.wordpress.com ) http://halina123dotcom.wordpress.com http://www.wiziq.com/halina-maria-ostanko http://halinaostankowicz.blogspot.com/ http://www.slideshare.net/HalinaOstakowiczBazan/presentations https://www.youtube.com/user/1234halina1 Halina's English Academy: https://halina123dotcom.wordpress.com/ 21st Century Education References https://www.linkedin.com/in/halina-ostankowicz-bazan-4b68413b/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/halina-ostankowicz-bazan-4b68413b/ Title: https://www.linkedin.com/in/halina-ostankowicz-bazan-4b68413b/ Ludmila Smirnova Professor of Education at MSMC July 26, 2014, Ludmila managed Halina directly I have known Halina Ostańkowicz-Bazan for a few years already and had a chance to see her as a learner, a teacher, a trainer and a leader. She has been a reliable and wonderfully creative colleague, co-facilitating the Moodle portion of an enormous course with me, and providing webinars of her own that brought her culture and her expertise in teaching English as a second language to the fore. The students who have taken the courses we have co-facilitated are teachers and graduate students also focused on teaching English as a second language. Her helpfulness and knowledge have inspired me, and I'm sure many of the people who have taken the courses. All of the courses we have been involved with have been free to the students; her commitment to the education of her colleagues and to her own learning has also been inspiring to me. I hope to work with her on similar projects again in the future.

  3. So do I! I’m off to Vietnam. It seems very disorganised and anybody can get hired as long as teachers are English natives. I start being concerned…
